Hailing from Southern Oklahoma, Douglas Allen straddles lines and in-between places. Finding the exquisite in heartbreak and the human search for connection, this ex-Baptist preacher uses the tension of big feelings, channeling them into the strings of his guitar. His voice is one part whiskey and two parts honey; like a tonic to soothe the raw intensity of his gritty melodies and heartfelt guitar playing. He blurs the lines between folk, blues, and soul, creating a sound at once both fresh and classic Americana. He's humbled by some of the comparisons made between his music and the work of Ben Harper, Amos Lee, and Ray LaMontagne. The son of a farmer turned city boy, he makes his home in Nashville after cutting his teeth in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene.
